Many people think design is just about making something “look” a certain way. But as Steve Jobs made abundantly clear at Apple, “Design is not just what something looks like and feels like. Design is how it works.”
Successful design is driven by clear direction, thoughtful planning and creative thinking to ensure that the final solution is not only is dinstinctly unique, but that it serves its intended function. That is what we aim to bring to every project.
With a majority of clients in the non-profit sector, we understand the need to do more with less. Our goal is always to help every client maximize their investment and its impact to ensure that every solution is consistent with who they are and what they want to achieve—and, just as importantly, that it fits within their budget.
2k Design is a Certified Women Owned Business Enterprise (MWBE) by the New York State Office of Economic Development.
While every client has a unique set of needs and every project varies in complexity, the steps involved in our design process are pretty much the same. From discovery to delivery, we guide our clients through each of these steps to arrive at a creative solution to fit their specific needs. Serving as a strategic partner, 2k Design brings a high level of creativity and experience to the entire process and overall development of a project.
By listening carefully to what our clients say, we understand exactly what they need to achieve the best possible solution for their desired outcome—even if is something they may not have previously considered. Our attention to all the details along the way helps ensure that the end result meets, and hopefully exceeds, all their needs and expectations.
Thoughtful planning is key to any successful endeavor. This process serves as an outline for planning future projects to help create greater efficiencies in the design process for all of us, which help save time and money, and just as importantly raise the quality of the work we do together.
We ask a lot of questions so we clearly understand the organization and the project goals, audience, message, desired outcome, and budget.
From the discovery dialogue, we formulate a set of parameters to define the framework for the project and provide the basis for our creative exploration and concept development.
We then gather, read, and assess all relative information to determine the most appropriate format and creative approach to fit the parameters.
We thoughtfully craft the concept based on the project strategy—selecting every word, image, and design element to clearly form our solution.
After the concept has been designed, we work with our client to make all necessary adjustments before we provide the artwork to the selected vendor.
We manage all phases of the production process to ensure that all our client’s expectations are met when the final product is delivered.
