CIVIL WAR SYMPOSIUM PROMOTIONAL MATERIALS
This project involved the design of a brochure on Civil War history that was hosted at the New York State Archives. The symposium included the exhibition of rare artifacts and documents from the Archives collections, so images of some of those items were included in the brochure layout. Because the budget to promote the symposium was limited, the interior of the brochure was designed to double as a poster when it was completely unfolded. We extended the print run on one side of the sheet to give the client an additional promotional piece for minimal additional cost. We also designed a coordinating invitation to the opening reception and dinner that were being held for special guests. The palette of the materials was kept to two-colors to save on printing costs, and were selected to representthe color of the official uniforms worn by Civil War soldiers, blue for the Union, gray for the Confederates.
