These postcards were the first pieces designed for the DHPSNY with their new logo, and, as such, set the tone for the design of the program's branding. They were developed to promote the DHPSNY services to historical repositories across New York State. To illustrate New York history, each utilizes a colorized glass lantern images on the front with the logo contained in a semi-opaque white band with dotted rules. Vintage parchment paper on the background of the back panel contains the messaging and separates it from the mailing panel. These elements have become key components of the program's brand.
