The New York State Archives Partnership Trust (APT), a 501(c)3 non-profit, was established as a public benefit corporation to support education, preservation, and outreach programs not funded by the state to make accessible the records from 350 years of New York’s colonial and state governments. In addition to publishing New York Archives, a quarterly magazine with articles and photographic essays on New York state history, the APT provides support for and develops special programs that include the Research Residency Program, the Student Research Awards Program, history conferences, special exhibitions, public education programs, teacher training institutes, and preservation projects.
For over twenty years, 2k Design has worked with the APT on a wide range of promotional materials that support their programs and initiatives. In 2001, 2k Design was engaged to design the inaugural issue of New York Archives magazine, a publication that is an important vehicle to promote history and communicate the significance of their work in support of the State Archives, and has designed every issue since. Other projects have included a special proposal for a Suffrage event, the APT website which was developed as a companion to the New York State Archives site, posters recognizing the APT Stewardship program, a "mini-magazine" promoting New York Archives, and invitations to various events.
For over two decades, 2k Design has crafted strategic design solutions based on our clients’ unique needs. Our work includes identity, print, web, packaging, signage, and exhibit design. We believe thoughtful planning, exceptional creativity, and outstanding organization are essential in developing the details of a project in a way that make the most sense, provides the most value, and has the greatest impact.
