THE AVONIAN FALL 2018 MAGAZINE
Produced three times a year, The Avonian is the alumni magazine for Avon Old Farms School, an all boys secondary school in Connecticut. The publication is an important vehicle to communicate the accomplishments and activities of the faculty, students and alumni to keep the audience engaged with the School.
We have been designing this publication since 2010, and in the of Fall 2018, completed a redesign to provide a more contemporary page layout that still maintains the history and character of the school. While Avon has always invested in great photography, the previous design combined photos, color and background textures which gave the pages a heavier and more dense appearance. The new design utilizes a cleaner page layout to really emphasize the images.

Awards
Several issues of the publication have received recognition from Higher Education Marketing Report including two Gold Awards, two Silver Awards, and a Bronze Award, as well as American Graphic Design Awards from Graphic Design USA magazine. This issue received and American Graphic Design Award.
