Designed to complement the Empire State Trail online map, this printed map/brochure was developed promote the Trail to a broader audience and drive traffic to the online map. Distributed through visitor centers, highway rest areas, and tourism brochure racks, events, and shows, the large state map shows the massive span of the cross state Empire State Trail route and the locations of the cities along it. Narrative text and pictures celebrate the sites to see and types of things to do while traveling. On the reverse, a series of city/town maps in each of the trails three sections highlight local attractions and their proximity to the trail. The brochure also provides additional sources of information for visitors seeking trip planning information.
Our team developed the conceptual direction, adapted narrative text and information from existing sources to create the content, sourced imagery, and created the maps. The resulting brochure was 36” x 24.875” (flat), folding to a finished size of 4” x 8.375” with 54 total panels.
